Requirements LVHN Pocono is in need of a Trauma locums Any certifications required besides board certification in Specialty? Added qualifications in trauma preferred but not required. Needs current ATLS certification. Description of required duties: Inpatient: Rounding on inpatient general and trauma surgical patients including ICU Step down and Medsurg units. Performing or assisting with admissions / consultations for the general and trauma surgical patients. Responding to trauma activations following full ATLS driven protocols. Performing emergency and urgent general surgical procedures. Outpatient: None Procedures required: Exploratory laparotomy for bowel obstructions intestinal perforations and traumatic intra-abdominal injuries requiring surgery. Laparoscopic procedures including but not limited to appendectomies cholecystectomies hernia repairs diagnostic etc. Incision and drainage of abscesses including for necrotizing soft tissue infections. Mass removal. Tracheostomy open amp percutaneous. Gastrostomies / jejunostomies open percutaneous and laparoscopic. Wound debridements. Supporting staff: Physician Assistants Schedule: 7 days which can be with day shift or overnight coverage. Hours: day shift 7 am to 5 pm then night from 5 pm to 7 am Call: if day shift preferred this will include 2 calls on Friday and Sunday. Cal is in-house not from home/hotel Volume: busy level 3 trauma center with full coverage of emergency general surgery. Location Hazleton Schuylkill Pocono Lehigh: Pocono Physical Address: 206 E Brown St East Stroudsburg PA 18301 Assignment Length: 6 Months Credentialing requirement: The Credentialing process takes up to 90 days from submission for candidates with an active PA license.
