Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Benefits Specialist!
About the role
As a Benefits Specialist, you will support our Life, Disability and Supplemental Health sales teams with inforce business. You’ll manage relationships with assigned new and existing customers to sustain and grow the business in the Southeast and/or Midwestern United States. The position requires a working understanding of the external marketplace, generating profitable revenue growth by retaining existing customers, growing the business and achieving customer satisfaction.
What you will do
Serve as designated primary service contact for a book of business consisting of accounts ranging in size from 100-499 lives.
Partner with Implementation Managers to successfully implement new business.
Manage all day-to-day service work including Agent of Record changes, licensing updates, amendment activity, complex billing resolutions, data feed set up, claim escalation resolution and supporting enrollment events.
Manage client education around products and services, GO portal and general Symetra processes.
Collaborate with Regional Sales Executives on book of business to identify business growth opportunities.
Manage renewal process for assigned book of business.
Assist Regional Account Manager and/or Regional Implementation.

Compensation
Salary Range: $28.09 - $46.80 hourly plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.
Who You Are:
High school diploma
College degree or equivalent experience preferred
Four to six years group insurance experience
Life and Health Insurance license
Sales and mathematics proficiency
Proficiency in reading and presenting contract provisions
Strong internal and external customer service skills
Strong organization, communication, and follow-up skills
