Project Engineer, Mechanical Service
The Project Engineer, Mechanical Service is a specialized role based out of the North Texas Market focused on the safe and profitable growth of the Owner-Direct HVAC Retrofit, Special Projects, & Design/Build business.
This role can be based out of Irving office/HYBRID– so as long as internal and external client needs are met. This is a role that supports Owner-Direct HVAC, Fire and Security Sales, and spans across pre and post construction activities for the project lifecycle of the Owner-Direct HVAC Retrofit, Special Projects & Design/Build business where average projects range from $50K->$1M and have a order-to-cash lifecycle of 90-120+ days, and in some cases up to or over 1-year in duration.
The Project Engineer will report directly to the Strategic Sales Account Manager/Market Director, and will have a dual role driving and supporting both Sales and Operations for pre and post construction activities related to HVAC Install projects that are direct to Owners/end-users.
Develop and drive programs to support the Sales & Operations teams on pre-sales efforts with technical activities such as partnering with our equipment agent for selection, cost estimates, submittals and scope letters and will recommend different MEP strategies and equipment offerings or technologies to supply end-user client needs.
Provide our internal and external estimating, engineering and installation teams with management support on medium and high complex projects and will support the internal project review process and turnover to Operations.
The vertical markets served are: Owner Direct, Prime Retrofits, New Construction, Design-Build, Design Assist, Industrial/Manufacturing, Data Center, Higher-Ed, Hospitality, Healthcare, Stadium, Municipality, Local Government, Federal facilities
Requirements:
Bachelors in Mechanical or electrical engineering or Business Degree with emphasis in construction OR relevant experience in the job description
Sheet metal and/or plumbing experience or certification
10 years experience with MEP contractor in estimating and/or project management
Intermediate knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment
2-4 years experience designing HVAC equipment is preferred
Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
Willingness to learn about HVAC equipment, new technologies and new offerings
Effective and professional communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with internal/external customers
