What You Will Do:
Under general supervision, you will serve as the on-site project leader, responsible for planning, executing, and completing projects for assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner. You will delegate tasks necessary to execute and fully complete projects, including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system commissioning, and project closeout.
You are accountable for the overall financial performance of assigned projects, focusing on costs, project billings, and collections. You will maintain customer satisfaction while achieving profitable and accurate financial results. Additionally, you will actively seek opportunities to sell change orders and coordinate communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
You will ensure proper warranty execution, directing subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative staff as needed.
Compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations is essential; you will operate with the highest ethics and ensure that all team members adhere to Johnson Controls safety standards.
How You Will Do It:
- You will provide detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers, Johnson Controls staff, and subcontractors.
- Actively pursuing additional work through change orders will be a critical aspect of your role. You will assess the contractual scope of work and manage the impact of any client-issued changes. Effective communication of both technical and business-related matters with clients is crucial.
- You will oversee the selection, ordering, budgeting, and scheduling of materials required for assigned projects using our web-based process. This includes securing pricing and availability from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, and managing the payment and billing process for subcontractors.
- Jobsite coordination for panel and field device locations will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring compliance with Johnson Controls standards and project requirements.
- You will manage the loading, verification, and commissioning of all system controllers, confirming complete system functionality and resolving issues with subcontractors to ensure optimal operation. You will provide accurate project documentation and commissioning records.
- Managing costs, timeliness, and accuracy of project billings will be essential to maintaining profitability and positive cash flow using best practices and continuous improvement metrics.
- You will provide coaching, mentoring, and technical support to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, and System Designers, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all delegated tasks within budget and scope.
- Regular communication with management regarding project status is expected, along with providing monthly forecasts for revenue, costs, and gross margin.
- You will send warranty letters to customers upon substantial project completion and ensure proper warranty service execution.
- Your role will involve developing project plans and coordinating the necessary resources for timely and cost-effective installation and completion of projects.
- Training for owner/operators on the complete system will be conducted, ensuring they receive the necessary documentation and manuals for system operation.
- Long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors will be cultivated, with attendance at job progress meetings as required.
- Collaboration with Project Engineers on bundled jobs will aim to deliver cost-effective solutions exceeding customer expectations.
- You will adhere to all safety standards and prioritize the safety of employees and subcontractors.

Requirements
- A minimum of a technical associate’s degree with two years of field experience or four years of equivalent related experience is required.
- Experience in Access Control, Fire, Video, or systems design and commissioning is essential. Appropriate licensing, certifications, and relevant hands-on experience are necessary.
- Ability to work independently, coupled with strong personal computer skills and knowledge of project accounting and contracting principles, preferred.
Preferred
- A technical associate’s degree with four years of field experience or six years of equivalent experience within the industry is desirable.
