This Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for:- Providing care to infants, children, adolescents and families for management of acute and chronic illnesses requiring intensive nursing and medical supports but not requiring the ICU.
- Collaborating with the supervising physician to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams, and diagnose health and developmental problems.
- Participating in the PIMCU medical rounds, including the presentation of clinical information, the progress and management of patients, and assisting in establishing and implementing treatment plans.
- Participating in or leading quality and safety initiatives and research in the PIMCU.
- Offering expertise as consultant and educator to nursing staff.
- Rotating 12 hour shifts on a per diem basis (minimum 2 shifts/6 week block).
- To qualify, you must have:
- A minimum of 2+ years inpatient pediatric experience with preference for those with experience in caring for higher acuity or higher complexity patients
- 1+ year of Pediatric NP or PA experience preferred
- Would consider new graduate nurse practitioner with recent pediatric inpatient RN experience
- Master’s Degree with current NP or PA license, BLS and PALS certification
