The LPN Nursing Supervisor supports the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/family and employee satisfaction during a designated shift. This individual leads, guides and directs the clinical operations, care delivery model of the nursing units including ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. The LPN Nursing Supervisor serves as a clinical operational liaison between the units and the Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing and Unit Managers.
Position Highlights
*Collaborates with the DON to maintain adequate nursing coverage to provide safe nursing care for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
*Participates in the interview process for nursing vacancies and assesses the performance of existing employees.
*Identifies educational needs of the staff and communicates needs to the Nurse Practice Educator (NPE) so they can be addressed.
* Ensures patient care assignments are consistent with staff competencies, scope of practice and the needs of the patients.
*Supports the DON in employing a strong Quality Improvement process for the nursing department.
Qualifications:
*Must be a graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing.
*Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing or pending licensed practical nurse licensure.
*Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification (All SNFs and Behavioral Centers; ALFs/ILFs as required by State).
