A Registered Nurse (RN) in the Endoscopy Procedural Department at Cleveland Clinic Tradition provides direct patient care to patients undergoing Endoscopy procedures, including but not limited to EGD, upper and lower colonoscopies, ERCP, and EUS, following established standards, department guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. The RN will use their strong assessment and critical thinking skills to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide the best outcomes for each patient. This role plays an integral part in ensuring patient advocacy and safety.
The hours of this per diem position are variable, sometimes requiring 10-hour days, 7am-5:30pm, and sometimes working partial shifts. The minimal overnight and weekend on-call requirements will be discussed in the interview. A minimum of 48 hours per six-week schedule is required.
Required qualifications for the ideal candidate include:
- A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR OF RN EXPERIENCE IN AN ENDOSCOPY PROCEDURAL ROOM IS REQUIRED.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Can critically think and problem-solve for patients’ best interests
- Can provide emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to patients.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
