Amare Global is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our Finance team. This person will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations for our Canada market. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have combined experience in both corporate and public accounting. *** Please note that this person will need to work onsite in our Mahwah, NJ office 4 days per week, and working 1 day fully remote.***
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure accuracy and completeness in all financial reports.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries. Monitor account balances and transactions.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file corporate tax returns, including GST/HST and other applicable taxes. Monitor changes in tax legislation and implement necessary updates.
- Accounts Payable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, and payment approvals.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making. Identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Analyze financial performance and variances against budgeted figures.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure adherence to accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Systems and Processes: Evaluate and improve accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience in the multi-level marketing (MLM) industry is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards (IFRS or ASPE).
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
