Position Title: LPN PRN
Reports to: Director of Nursing
Position Summary:
Serves as support personnel following regulations for the practice of Licensed Practical Nurse including assisting with patient admissions, patient procedures, care and maintenance of procedural instrumentation, discharging patients, chart preparation, medical records, medication administration, assisting providers and other personnel as needed and other collateral duties.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility: Current Florida LPN License, BLS required and ACLS preferred. Two (2) years' experience of clinical experience with an emphasis in PACU, surgery or ER required.

- Knowledge: Aseptic and sterile technique. Maintains knowledge of current nursing practice.
- Machines, Equipment, Work Aides: Computer, printer, copier, telephone, and fax. All standard admitting supplies and equipment. Standard medical supplies within the scope of practice.

- Provides patient care under the direction of the RN.
- Identifies patient care needs and prioritizes accordingly, asking for assistance from the RN when applicable.

- Executes MD orders according to scope of practice and under the supervision of the RN.
- Administers medication according to policy and procedure and within scope of practice.
- Reports abnormal or unexpected outcomes or observations to RN and/or physicians.
- Assists the RN in management of patient complications/emergencies preoperatively and postoperatively.
- Communicates with appropriate personnel.
- Initiates and follows procedure protocols.
- Facilitates actions and activities that support accountability to practice.
- Identifies and initiates problem resolution.
- Actively participates, develops, and implements activities and measures promoting quality care.
- Medical Records
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical record policy and procedures in management of patient information.
- Participates in medical records QAPI.
