Overview:
The Oklahoma Wound Care Center is the largest outpatient wound center in the Oklahoma City area. We see a wide variety of patients and their wounds. Most commonly seen is the diabetic foot ulcer, but we also treat surgical, traumatic and burn wounds. The staff play a vital role in assessing and treating simple to complex wounds. Nursing staff collaborate closely with physicians to achieve healing. The Oklahoma Wound Care Center is a busy and very fast paced clinic with 3 wound care specialized physicians, 10 exam rooms and 4 hyperbaric oxygen chambers.
Responsibilities:
- Performs duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
- Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients.
- Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.
- Documents nursing care and activities.
- Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures.
- Assists the departmental assistant with clinical matters
- Maintains the exam/treatment rooms and work environment.
- Assists with the training of other staff.
Qualifications:
Education
- Completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.
Experience
- Prefer previous hospital experience.
- Previous work history reflecting stable employment is necessary.
- If no work experience, will consider school attendance record and performance.
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Licensure/Certification.
- Current Oklahoma State LPN License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. C
- urrent Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
Compensation/Benefits
- $18.08-$29.53/hr depending on previous work experience.
