Planner/Scheduler

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Planner/Scheduler to join our team. This role is accountable to the Project Controls Manager and is responsible for developing site activity plans and schedules, coordinating engineering, procurement, and construction activities, and monitoring contractor schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and scheduling in an industrial or construction environment, with expertise in scheduling software and a thorough understanding of project workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage schedules for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and validation activities.
- Review, approve, and monitor contractor schedules and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Identify and elevate potential schedule issues to project management for timely corrective action.
- Perform critical path analysis and evaluate the impact of variations on schedules.
- Develop and analyze resource-loaded schedules, earned value, and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in expediting information needed to complete activities from engineering, procurement, construction, and clients.
- Produce various planning and scheduling reports and support monthly progress reporting.
- Review change orders and evaluate their impact on project schedules.
- Test contractors' construction plans and schedules for compliance and logical integrity.
- Monitor look-ahead schedules and forecasts for alignment with project plans.
- Support the Construction Management (CM) team in assessing and negotiating schedule variations and delays.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in planning and scheduling in positions of progressive responsibility.
- Proficiency in Primavera Project Planner (P6 and above), spreadsheets, and word processing software.
- Strong knowledge of scheduling principles, including CPM techniques, resource loading, and earned value analysis.
- Familiarity with design, procurement, and construction/field service workflows.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with project management, leads, and clients.
- Proven ability to identify potential problems and recommend solutions.
- Accredited degree in engineering, business, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications in project controls or planning/scheduling disciplines are a plus.
- Multi-project phase experience preferred.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
