Maxar Intelligence is currently seeking a Direct Access Support Engineer in our Mission Operations Center, to join our team in Longmont, CO.
Your Project: In this role, you will help support the operational mission in support of International Defense and Intelligence customers through the Direct Access Program (DAP). You will preserve the spacecraft and ground systems, ensure existing and potential satellite tasking requirements are met, generating revenue in the form of imagery and ancillary data for Maxar Intelligence's internal and external customers Service Level Agreements. You will also support numerous internal departments including Remote Systems, Direct Access Remote Sensing (DARS), Project Management, and the direct access account management and sales teams.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
- As part of an integrated ground and planning team of five engineers supporting the Maxar Intelligence satellite constellation and ground infrastructure, you will confirm satellite access requests are accurately arbitrated,
- Monitor satellite access windows to guarantee successful execution and ensure delivery of imagery and products within prescribed deadlines,
- Frontline incident management for direct access customers outside of standard business hours
- Troubleshoot Tier 1 and 2 issues in high pressure situations,
- Utilize and maintain monitoring tools by performing ongoing assessments of efficiency/performance of these tools,
- Work alongside sales and customer teams on requirements for DAP access and operational implementation,
- Provide input and guarantee accuracy of operations efficiency and transition documentation and procedures,
- Effectively communicate with team members, cross-departmental staff and DAP Customers regarding status, milestones, issues, and resolution.
Minimum requirements for this position:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a current/active Secret security clearance
- Ability to accommodate 24/7 rotational shift work
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Background in Windows & Unix/Linux environments
- Proficiency with understanding and modifying XML and JSON
- Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python or Ruby
- Must possess/demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
These skills would be amazing:
- Geospatial and GIS experience or familiarity with remote sensing applications
- Ability to understand system level concepts and grasp details of interaction between various components in the system
- Ability to provide support and guidance to customers during implementation of their system and execution long-term
- Experience with aerospace and/or satellite ground systems
- Ability to support time-sensitive requirements
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task, results driven, strong sense of ownership and urgency
- Ability to interact multilingually

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$64,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually.
