Medical Assembly Technicians
Kelly is looking for a meticulous and skilled Assembly Technicians to join our premier client in Lake Zurich, IL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing small, assembled parts according to procedures, maintaining confidential information, and adhering to safety requirements. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
3-5 years of experience (medical device experience preferred).
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Range: $21 - $30/hr
Shift: Flexible 1st shift hours (start between 6-8am)
Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment such as adhesive dispensers, vertical shrinkers, braiders, tipping machines, drilling, punching, and measuring devices to assemble catheters and parts.
- Maintain written records of materials used, procedures followed, and inspection features on supplied data forms (LHR, etc.).
- Advise on the need for repairs and upgrades of manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain good working relationships with co-workers.
- Track materials, tools, and procedures as the device is manufactured. Ensure incoming materials meet purchase order specifications.
- Support the engineer project leader with modifications in written procedures and suggested improvements in making products or sub-assemblies.
- Perform testing of devices or components in accordance with written protocols and test procedures.
- Follow the Medical Quality system, including all applicable SOP's included in the Training Matrix.
- Produce small, assembled parts according to verbal and written procedures.
- Work independently and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidential information in accordance with Company policy.
- Adhere to safety requirements.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Technical skills including experience with plastic part assembly, adhesive bonding, materials knowledge, and prototyping.
- Detail-oriented and able to read/interpret engineering drawings and procedures.
- Understanding of measurement units and ability to take and comprehend measurements.
- Ability to work with small parts with dexterity in hands.
- 3-5 years of experience (medical device experience preferred).
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
- Previous years of assembly experience.
- Ability to work with small hand tools and work underneath a microscope for an 8+ hour shift (using tools such as calipers, micrometers, scalpel, soldering iron, tweezers).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice to Have:
- Previous medical device assembly experience.
- Degree or certifications above a high school diploma or GED.
- Determination to understand the requirements and skill set needed for complex projects.
