Secures enterprise information by determining security requirements; planning, implementing, and testing security systems; preparing security standards, policies, and procedures. Plans security systems by evaluating network and security technologies; developing requirements for local area networks (LANs),wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices; designs public key infrastructures (PKIs), including use of certification authorities (CAs)and digital signatures as well as hardware and software; adhering to industry standards on-prem, remote(DR), and cloud environments. Enhances security team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.
(1) Define, operationalize, and document the security architecture and assessment function.
(2) Develop, standardize, and document reference architectures; specifically, zero trust architecture.
(3) Determine and apply appropriate controls and criteria for security architecture reviews.
(4) Elevate the security engineering team through mentoring and knowledge transfer.
Job Requirements Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience) with 5+ years in information security and security systems architecture. Technical Expertise: Proven experience in designing and implementing security systems (LANs, WANs, VPNs, firewalls, PKIs) and familiarity with on-premises, cloud, and disaster recovery environments. Security Architecture Skills: Demonstrated ability to define, operationalize, and document security architectures, particularly zero trust frameworks, and conduct comprehensive security architecture reviews. Knowledge of Standards & Practices: Strong understanding of cryptographic tools, certification authorities (CAs), digital signatures, and industry compliance frameworks. Mentorship & Leadership: Experience mentoring and elevating team capabilities through knowledge sharing, process improvement, and collaboration. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, or relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., CCSP, AWS Certified Security).
