The Behavioral Health Therapist(LCSW, LMHC) provides mental health/substance abuse assessments, Diagnosis, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, completes required documentation in a timely fashion, and provides other clinical services to patients presenting with mental health and/or substance abuse concerns, through individual, family and group therapy as indicated. The Behavioral Health Therapist also works closely and in harmony with interdisciplinary team members and fellow clinicians, individually or in team meetings as needed. Duties also include active participation in regular consultation sessions, and also maintaining a high level of competence and ethical treatment by keeping current with required training for renewal of state licensing.
The Behavioral Health therapist (LCSW,LMHC) also considers additional certifications in specialties useful for the client population at the clinic. The Behavioral Health Therapist is knowledgeable about Florida Law pertaining to mental health and substance abuse, HIPAA requirements and the ethical code of their profession and perform accordingly. Opportunities for public presentations, consultations to other hospital departments and to present a training in an area of expertise may be possible.
The Behavioral Health Therapist (LCSH,LMHC)may have the opportunity to provide Field Instruction for field experience students and to provide Florida Approved Supervision for Registered Interns if approved to provide this supervision by the State of Florida.
