Overview:
Under the guidance of the director and with limited supervision and broad general direction, performs duties within the EP Program. This includes clinic and hospital duties as it relates to navigating patients through scheduling and follow-up of EP procedures.
This co-worker will collaborate with the Department Director to fully oversee and coordinate all aspects of the EP program and job duties will include but are not limited to:
- Coordinates procedures with all required and supporting medical device representatives.
- Performs and assists in all electrophysiology procedures utilizing recording and pacing systems, as well as advanced 3D mapping.
- Maintains billing compliance within the department.
- Responsible for department workflow and completion of ordered procedures as it relates to the EP Program.
- Trains and educates new and current employees in Electrophysiology Program.
- Schedules procedures, maintains inventory and participates in the ordering and maintenance of lab equipment.
- Reports and acts on quality initiatives, follows compliance to departmental policies and procedures.
- Follows established standards and practices under the direction of an Electrophysiologist.
- Will cross train and float to or other cath lab areas as needed (preop, recovery, circulator, monitor, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 years Cath Lab/Electrophysiology Experience, 3 years providing care to patients within Cardiology. Knowledge of specialty equipment/tools.
- Required Education: Associate degree in Nursing or Radiologic Technology
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Certifications: RCES certified and/or RCVT/RCIS Certified. If Radiologic Technologist, Arkansas Radiologic Technologist license required. If RN, nursing license required.
- Other: Ability to think logically and sequentially. Ability to coordinate care of the patient across the care continuum. Ability to develop standards, training and communicate effectively.
