Welding Systems Controls Project Engineer
Job Summary

Job Duties & Responsibilities
The candidate will work out of Fori’s Shelby Twp. Michigan facility and will report to the Controls Engineering Manager. Candidate must demonstrate the following to be considered:
- Manage the controls activities of an assigned project
- Review customer software specifications
- Define the overall project software architecture for the base contract
- Document software requirements
- Develop project templates and engineering documents
- Validate all software before commissioning
- Commission software on the equipment as required
- Develop and manage commissioning plans through validation and customer buyoff at Fori and the customer’s plant
- Participate in the validation and buyoff of the software on the equipment
- Archive all completed engineering software designs, engineering documents, and lessons learned
- Coordinate with Project Management regarding schedule, design concepts and other status information on areas of concern
- Attend project cross function team meetings
- Represent all controls activities with the customer for the project duration
- Participate in internal and external design reviews of deliverables
- Present and support all customer software approvals
- Act as engineering liaison to manufacturing and field service departments
Education & Experience
- Ability to take the Controls Engineering Lead on a project
- Strong programming knowledge and experience using Rockwell PLC’s
- Knowledge of spot and MIG welding control systems
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Controls system application knowledge
- Robot I/O interfacing. Basic operation knowledge of Fanuc, ABB, and Motoman
- Electrical engineering degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Possible 50% travel requirement
- US Passport and travel capability to Canada
