What you will do
This skilled position involves installing, programming, testing and troubleshooting new Conventional and Addressable Fire Alarm, Systems and other related building systems products. Including panel repair/reprogram, device replacement/repair, resolving low voltage circuit troubles and system testing on.
Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.
Candidate must possess excellent written/verbal communication and outstanding customer service skills.
Knowledge of test equipment to include multi-meters, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communication devices.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operation/product manuals.
Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
Experience with IT and IP networks a plus.
Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
Overtime may be required during busy project schedules.
How you will do it
Perform installation/programming on Integrated Special Systems as described above.
Responds to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoots and repairs as needed when on call.
Will be required to participate in after-hours service program.
Communicates with central dispatch on current work order status and receives updates on outstanding customer issues.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer and contract specification.
Completes necessary certification courses on internal and external products used.
What we look for
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years’ related experience in Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Nurse Call & Security Systems.
Knowledge of major fire alarm equipment brands a plus, such as, Notifier, Simplex Fire systems.
Familiarity with applicable codes (i.e. NFPA 72. NFPA 70)
Strong work ethic and integrity
Detail oriented and strong problem solving skills
Proficient in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and database (software) programs
Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50lbs.
May be required to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
Must comply with safety guidelines at all times.
Working knowledge of electronic and digital test equipment.
Basic understanding of Network concepts and architectures.
Extended knowledge of DOS and Windows.
A valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a short period of time.
Ability to work flexible hours depending on the needs of the customer
Ability to travel overnight as needed approximately 10%
Familiarity with applicable codes
Will be required to participate in after-hours service program
State and/or local licensing a big plus
Preferred
Trade School in Electronics
NICET certification. If you do not currently have it you will be expected to obtain it.
Prior security/access control/intrusion experience is desired and a big plus
