Summary
Position will be required to travel to patients homes within 30 minutes from the Gulf Coast Medical Center facility.
Responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care provided through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Performs responsibilities in the five areas of nursing practice: clinician, teacher, researcher, leadership, and professional development utilizing critical thinking, management, problem solving, and differentiation of urgency. Responsible for nursing care of acute care patients in the home setting based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by the American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory standards. The nurses practice is guided by the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretative Statements, with the nurse integrating knowledge of patients age and cultural diversity into the provision of holistic patient care. The Hospital at Home Nurse contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through excellence, customer service, performance improvement, and mentoring to deliver positive patient outcomes and experiences. Collaborates within the interdisciplinary team to deliver effective and efficient patient care and supports the organizations mission, vision and values.
Requirements
Education Requirements:Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required. Associates or Bachelors preferred.
Experience Requirements:Minimum of 3 years acute care clinical experience in a progressive care or intensive care unit. Recent clinical experience within the last two years upon application preferred.
Certification Requirements:Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. For units that require American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.
License Requirements:Currently licensed in the State of Florida.
