Reports to: Production & Photo Studio Manager
The Studio Assistant is a critical part of the team that enables merchandise to come to life. In this role, you will organize and prepare a wide range of merchandise and support Wantable’s photography and video production. This role merges responsibilities in sample coordination, studio organization, and production tasks to ensure seamless operations at the Wantable Photo Studio.
Wantable is looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic individual to collaborate with the photo studio team. This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency and organization of Wantable’s studio production. This is a full-time, on-site position at the Wantable Photo Studio in Milwaukee, WI.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Studio Support (50%):
- Prepare merchandise for the imaging process, organizing and steaming product racks for on-figure and off-figure sets.
- Retag, prep, and organize merchandise to facilitate efficient workflow, maintaining high standards for product quality.
- Collaborate closely with the on-set stylist and photographers, identifying and escalating inventory issues as needed.
- Support photo team with equipment handling, including packing and shipping items for projects, and managing studio props and supplies.
- Make lunch arrangements for photoshoot days.
- Pick up Priority Product from the Fulfillment Center as needed (mileage from HQ to the FC will be reimbursed)
- Run other errands for the photo studio as needed.
Sample Coordination (40%):
- Check in and organize incoming product samples for marketing projects, ensuring they are properly labeled, tagged, and stored.
- Maintain an organized sample archive, keeping track of sample locations, availability, and return status.
- Coordinate with the Sample Team Manager to ensure samples are readily available for upcoming photo shoots.
- Conduct quality checks on samples to ensure they meet Wantable's standards, communicating any defects or inaccuracies to relevant teams.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Creative, and Photography teams to ensure accurate representation of products.
Data Management and Reporting (10%):
- Enter and update relevant product information, such as SKU numbers, product descriptions, and sample attributes, in the internal systems.
- Maintain accurate records of sample usage, returns, and exchanges.
GOALS:
- Process any “rush request” inventory which requires items to be photographed within the hour.
- Ensure data entry is done within 1 day of sample arrival.
- Ensure quality of samples align to merchandising PO in terms of color, etc.
- Process at least 12 samples per hour with 98% accuracy in labeling, tagging, and data entry.
- Organize racks and maintain studio standards to keep preparation time under 3 minutes per item.
- Clear and consistent communication across key stakeholders
OUTCOMES:
- Maintain a consistently organized and accessible sample inventory, supporting seamless photography and video operations.
- Increase sample preparation efficiency, reducing garment prep time and enhancing shoot readiness.
- Foster studio organization.
- Meet daily production and quality benchmarks for studio operations and sample coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; experience with data entry and record-keeping.
- Previous experience in sample coordination, studio support, or a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds and stand or walk for an entire 8-hour shift.
Additional Requirements:
- Daily attendance is mandatory; this is an on-site role.
- Interest in fashion and an understanding of garment quality standards is highly desirable.

This position requires the employee to be on their feet the majority of the shift. The employee is occasionally required to sit; regularly climb or balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; pushing and pulling of wheeled dolly up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

In-Office requirements:
This position is full-time and is not a remote position. The role reports on-site at the Wantable Photo Studio in Milwaukee, WI.
