About the Role:
We are looking for a Patient Services Representative to join our team! This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who enjoy helping others, are detail-oriented, and are interested in starting a career in healthcare. As a Patient Services Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive exceptional service when they interact with our practice. You will assist with appointment scheduling, address patient inquiries, and help with administrative tasks that support the overall patient experience.
No prior healthcare experience or degree is required, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to break into the healthcare field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Communication: Be the first point of contact for patients via phone, email, or in person. Provide friendly, professional, and clear communication to address questions, appointment requests, and concerns.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Ensure that patient details are accurately entered and updated in the system.
- Patient Registration: Collect and verify patient information, such as contact details, insurance coverage, and medical history, while ensuring all data is entered accurately into the system.
- Insurance Verification: Assist in verifying patient insurance coverage and help patients understand their insurance benefits as needed.
- Administrative Support: Provide general office assistance, including maintaining patient files, updating records, and handling any other clerical tasks necessary to support patient care.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve patient issues in a friendly and efficient manner. Escalate more complex issues to supervisors or medical staff when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- No prior healthcare experience necessary, though customer service or administrative experience is a plus.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and a positive attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when handling multiple tasks or dealing with challenging situations.
- Basic computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office or similar programs).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment.
