We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:
• Join a team of remarkable nurses that use compassion and teamwork to care for their inspiring patients on this 41-bed hematology, oncology, stem cell transplant, and palliative care inpatient unit.
• Provide care for acutely ill patients, including those undergoing bone marrow, stem cell transplant and cellular therapies (CAR T), as well as patients at end of life. Patients on this unit have complex disease processes, including leukemia, lymphoma and solid tumor cancers and often have complications such as Graft-Versus-Host Disease.
• Administer chemotherapy, assist with stem cell transplant procedures, bone marrow biopsies, administer blood products, access central lines and ports, and perform head to toe assessments for patients.
• Be involved in cutting edge, evidence-based therapies and research studies to improve patient outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change.
• Become an expert oncology RN. You will receive formal education classes in hematologic malignancies, oncologic emergencies, stem cell transplant, palliative care, and chemotherapy certification.
Shift: 36 hrs/week, Night, 12 hr shifts, every other weekend rotation, and some holidays.
Minimum Requirements:
Facility Requirement:
• Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location.
• Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
Experience:
• Chemo and/or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience required.
• Chemotherapy certification required.
• Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.
Licensure and Certification:
• Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state.
• BLS – must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
• Chemotherapy certification required.
Telemetry
• Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).
