Reporting into the SVP Global Medical Affairs, Behring, The Director, Therapeutic Area (TA) Program Management is responsible for a team of project managers who work with other medical functions to ensure timely execution of business operations including those relating to planning, budget, and execution.
You will work closely with IT, Global Business Excellence (GBE,) and local Medical Affairs (MA) affiliates to ensure the above market infrastructure is provided and assist the local affiliates to adopt. This role will ensure management of the budgets in Global MA in close collaboration with finance partners. This role will ensure standardization of MA KPIs, including presentation readiness across the globe on a consistent basis. In this role you will ensure contracts are executed in a timely and compliant manner in collaboration with TA heads, GBE, and Legal.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Lead the development and maintenance of global templates for business processes, including annual plans, launch playbooks, and budget worksheets.
Create standard membership, charter, and standing agenda for Medical Affairs Strategy Teams.
Oversee TA Program Managers to ensure that all TA Medical Affairs Strategy Teams maintain membership of required functions, meet at defined cadence, and produce planned outputs.
Create annual calendar of business process activities and implement across TAs to ensure insight generation, evidence generation planning, publication planning, and medical strategy documents are delivered on time and with the appropriate inputs.
Develop strategic plans for all Medical Affairs (MA) activities requiring a platform approach ensuring utilization across the globe of such platforms. Identify opportunities where MA can enhance operational efficiency by using state of the art technology, benchmarking across the industry for optimal MA technologies. Once identified, ensure harmonization across the globe.
Lead in close collaboration with GBE and BT, the administration, training, maintenance, and enhancements of all systems utilized by MA including Veeva, Cyber grants, Pubs hub.
Lead the standardization of MA KPIs and direct GBE towards creation of a single dashboard to represent key metrics across MA.
Lead the budget management, including forecasting and HLR planning for Global Medical Affairs. Ensure collaboration and alignment with the local affiliates and lead automation of budget tracking for seamless execution and translation to senior management.
Collaborate with GBE, TA Heads and Legal to ensure all contracts for all projects are executed in a timely fashion and stored in Companion.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Advanced medical and / or scientific degree (master’s or higher) with 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotherapeutics industry experience
- Experience building and leading matrixed teams in a global organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex and competing projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills, strategic capabilities, project management, planning, and organization skills.
- Influential leader who builds relationships across stakeholder types
- Fluency with project management tools such as Smartsheet's, Gannt charts, budget management
- This is a Hy-Brid Position requiring 50% in office.
