The Role
The Senior Lead Engineer provides support for solution development and deployment of telecom, professional services, Cyber and IT solutions for Large Systems Integrators, Federal Government and SLED customers. Serve as a technical advisor responsible for architect and design solutions that achieve the client’s business needs and goals.

The Main Responsibilities
- Provide project leadership and direction for the design, development, delivery and sustainment of high-fidelity simulation test and verification of products
- Create high-level requirements. Oversee project execution, manage cost, schedule, technical execution of projects for internal and external customers
- Support Lumen Public Sector internal organizations to develop custom solutions, and/or evaluate PRFP and RFP documents, validate customer requirements provide a compliant, competitive solution addressing requirements
- Directly interfaces with Government customers, vendors, subcontractors and internal Lumen cross functional teams
- Works to evaluate new and emerging technologies in the areas of network, cloud, edge, and security
- Hands-on deployment, testing and integration on innovative technologies in lab environment
- Documents all lab tested solutions for the purposes of future standardization and productization
- Presents all Lumen proposed solutions in a professional manner
- Provide support to installation personnel as needed to clarify service expectations, including providing diagrams, verbal explanation and written documentation
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Current active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph if necessary
- Exceptional knowledge in Managed and Professional Services including (but not limited to) SIEM, EDR/XDR, SD-WAN, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Awareness, Cloud Security, Cloud (Private/Public/Hybrid)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
- Knowledge of various vendor equipment including (but not limited to) Juniper, Cisco, Aruba, Palo-Alto
- Knowledge of telecommunications equipment, operation, procedures and practices
- Ability to present customer information on project status in various forms such as MS Power Point briefings, MS Project schedules, MS Visio drawings and MS Excel
- BS in Telecommunications or equivalent work experience (8 years’ experience in telecommunications O&M, installation, and engineering)
- Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Relevant certifications in Cloud, Security, and Network technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solution Architect, CCNP, JNCIP)
- US Citizenship required
- Minimal travel may be required
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$123,210 - $164,280 in these states: CO.
$129,080 - $172,100 in these states: VA.
As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

Salary Range
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
