Our Global Family Enterprise (GFE) practice specializes in delivering comprehensive compliance and consulting services to affluent families and their private business or investment entities. This includes personal, charitable, trust, and estate/gift taxation. Members of the GFE practice manage tax engagements for a diverse range of clients, addressing their needs before, during, and after their integration with the U.S. income and estate tax systems.

As a Tax Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around your technical expertise and ability to work on a collaborative team to deliver excellent client service:
• International Tax Compliance: Handle the review of intricate international tax returns, including documentation related to foreign income, foreign tax credits, controlled foreign corporations (CFCs), passive foreign investment companies (PFICs), and other international tax reporting obligations. Such as 1040, 1040NR, 1116, 8938, 2225, 8621, 3520, 3520-A, 5471, 8858, 8865, 8832, FinCen Form 114.
• Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and analyze tax planning strategies to enhance clients' global tax positions, taking into account factors such as cross-border transactions, foreign tax credits, and tax treaties.
• Client Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights and recommendations on the international tax implications of their business operations, investments, and cross-border transactions.
• Research and Analysis: Perform thorough research on international tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure compliance and identify potential tax-saving opportunities for clients.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to incorporate tax considerations into business initiatives and ensure alignment with overall corporate strategies.
• Client Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering exceptional service and proactive communication on tax-related matters.
• Internal Client Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with staff and management, delivering clear and constructive feedback and proactive communication on engagements.
• Continuing Education: Keep abreast of emerging trends, developments, and best practices in international taxation through continuous learning and professional development activities.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field
CPA license in one’s principal place of business/home state, licensed J.D. or enrolled agent (with approval from regional tax leader)
Minimum of 8 years of experience working with cross-border operations and investments (personal taxation, trust taxation, estate & gift taxation, charitable taxation, with exposure to partnership taxation and corporate taxation, including State & Local income (SALT)/Franchise tax for multi-state filers).
Technical knowledge of complex tax issues, particularly with foreign trusts, foreign pensions and CFC attribution analysis and technical knowledge of income and estate tax treaties, totalization agreements, types of visas, international reporting and filings, including PFICs.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to lead collaborative teams and manage a book of business that exceeds client expectations

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $137,700 - $276,700
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
