Overview:
Lowes Foods is seeking a Culinary Intern who is passionate for food. Must be flexible and able to travel to retail locations located in NC, SC, and GA. The primary focus will be recipe development and/or product preparation and processes. Organize, transport, and prepare product for team review.
The intern will work with Corporate Chefs to develop new food items. Items to include made from scratch in store and/or manufactured for retail outlets. Utilize culinary, costing skills and work through process on how they directly impact an operation. Learn what it takes to bring an item to market in multiple stores.
Responsibilities:
- Learning opportunities will include process on how to bring food items to market, working experience in a growing sector of food service with exposure to various support teams. During this process culinary fundamentals and costing skills will be utilized and grown.
- Work with Fresh Foods team and Chefs to develop retail items, recipes, and/or programs that are on trend to drive sales.
- Work with various teams to include marketing, merchandising, and operations, and Chefs.
