Avera St. Mary’s is currently seeking an Infusion Registered Nurses (RN) in the Outpatient Services at the Avera Cancer Institute looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.
Position Highlights:
Job Summary
- The Oncology Registered nurse is responsible for coordinating patient care for all patients in the department, utilizing the nursing process and creates a supportive environment.
- The oncology registered nurse will help educate patients about treatment options, procedures and particularities of the disease and keeps self-up to date with new treatment methods.
- Staff is required to maintain a level of physical/mental health needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Avera St. Mary’s Service and Care Standards as well as the Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure in the State of South Dakota, at least 1 year of registered nursing experience is desirable, but not required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to area of responsibility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all patient care staff.
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification recommended, ONS preferred.
- Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
