Our team members span North America, many of whom are located within a few hours of our Hopewell Junction, NY, headquarters. While the majority work from home, we recognize the unique value of face-to-face interactions. Depending on the role, team members may be asked to join us at HQ periodically. Lovingly has ambitious growth plans, and we’re building a motivated, diverse team to help double our market share domestically and internationally. As Director of Engineering, you’ll be the technical cornerstone, overseeing engineering efforts that span B2B and D2C platforms, AI-driven solutions, and scalable infrastructures—all aligned with our mission of creating exceptional gifting experiences.
What you’ll do
- Lead hands-on technical development and strategic planning.
- Mentor and build high-performing engineering teams focused on continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Drive the modernization of Lovingly’s tech stack, integrating AI and machine learning to enhance our product and workflow efficiency.
- Oversee infrastructure management with an emphasis on security, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, UX/UI, and marketing teams to ensure alignment and technical feasibility.
- Implement and maintain robust development practices, including CI/CD and comprehensive QA processes.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
- Proven expertise in leading technical projects, re-platforming, and AI technologies.
- Strong communication skills, capable of simplifying complex ideas for diverse audiences.
- Alignment with Lovingly’s LLAMA philosophy, emphasizing innovation, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving.
Note: Job candidates must reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is between 150K - 190K based on skills, experience, and background.
