About the Neuro Step Down & Stroke Unit: Join our dynamic team at the Neuro Step Down & Stroke Unit, where high acuity patients receive exceptional care in a supportive environment. As a member of our team, you'll experience the rewards of teamwork, continuous training, and development opportunities. With a 26-bed unit and a patient ratio of 1:4, you'll have the resources to provide personalized attention to each patient. Our unique approach ensures that patients stay within the same building until discharge, fostering continuity of care and a sense of community. Responsibilities- Performs nursing assessments to gather data and identify the patient's needs for this episode of care per ANA standards and NCBON.
- Coordinates and communicates patient care needs for discharge planning in interdisciplinary care conferences and with members of the health care team.
- Develops and implements an individualized plan of nursing care with the patient and family that will address the patient's and family's identified needs and concerns.
- Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in coordinating the plan of care and facilitating patient outcomes.
- Implements and evaluates the patient's response to care through assessment and reassessment and updates the plan of care.
- Provides care based on established standards of practice, policies, and protocols.
- Ensures patients are admitted, transferred, and discharged promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
- One-year of acute nursing experience required.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
