About the Surgical II Unit: We are seeking a registered nurse to join our te am at New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Surgical II unit. The Surgical II unit specializes in post-operative care, catering to patients recovering from procedures such as vascular, spine, and chest tube surgeries, and those with external fixators and multi-system traumas. Unlike a typical Medical-Surgical unit, Surgical II primarily focuses on post-operative care, requiring specialized knowledge and skills. The team comprises experienced nurses who are dedicated team players, ensuring thorough patient care while fostering a supportive environment .
Responsibilities- Assessing patients' conditions and health needs.
- Provide specialized post-operative care to patients .
- Administering medications and treatments prescribed by physicians.
- Monitoring and recording patients' vital signs and medical information.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educating patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care measures.
- Foster a supportive environment and teamwork among colleagues.
Qualifications- Associate degree in nursing
- Current valid North Carolina Nursing License or Multi-State/Compact
- Specialized knowledge and experience in post-operative care
- Strong interpersonal skills for fostering a supportive work environment
- One-year relevant experience, preferred
