This position is a comprehensive 12-week learning experience with the Automotive Ancillaries team in the Performance Coatings Group. The Intern will be given a technical project which they will present at the end of their assignment. Â Students will be active participants on a project team developing automotive undercoats and primers utilizing solvent-based coating chemistries (e.g. polyurethane, epoxy). They will have periodic reviews to evaluate their performance. Â Students will also participate in several special networking and learning events throughout their assignment. This opportunity will allow students to gain experience in work groups, as well as working with other Interns and Co-ops.Â
The individual selected for this role will primarily work at 4440 Warrensville Center Rd, Warrensville Heights, OH 44128.Â

• Provide support to technicians, chemists and scientists within assigned Research & Development Group.
• Perform a variety of laboratory tasks utilizing general instruments and advanced lab equipment.
• Complete appropriate research documentation, calculations, and data analysis and effectively communicate these results with supervisor and team members.
• Prepare basic samples, materials, equipment, and other required tools for laboratory tests or development.
• Perform basic technical development, tests, analyses, and research based on formulas and project requirements.
• Complete appropriate forms and documentation regarding research and development processes, tasks, results, reports and conclusions; receives direction from other technicians or chemists on specialized or complex issues.  Â
• Perform basic calculations to prepare, perform, and conclude tests and analyses.Â
• Clean, maintain and calibrate standard equipment and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
•    Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (“STEM”) at the time of the internship program
•    Must be at least eighteen (18) years of ageÂ
•    Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
•    Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total of 12 week, with or without reasonable accommodation
•    Minimum of 2.8 GPA Â
Preferred QualificationsÂ
•    Previous experience in a Sherwin-Williams research and development (R&D) Internship or Co-op Program  Â
•    Be a rising or current sophomore, Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the internship program Â
