Required Skills: Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, IV insulin protocols, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, CVA, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Nasal Cannula , Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen face masks
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
*Peritoneal Dialysis
*Telemetry (RN to interpret & document rhythm)
*Non-titratable Drips include: Amiodarone, Diltilizem Cardiazem, Amiodarone & Lasix.
*Heparin - Heparin drip nursing protocol
*Code Team Responders (recorders & time keepers)
*Stroke certified unit
- Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4, but RN should be expected to take 1:5 based on acuity and downgrades
- if floated to non tele med surg unit patient ratio is 1:6
PCU/Telemetry Cardiac Monitoring - Admits from NWH ED, direct admits from Grace Medical Center, transfers from non-tele units:
