Summary
A Compliance and Assurance specialist for the MPLX Inland Marine Department is integral for implementing robust compliance and assurance program initiatives across the entire marine vessel fleet and third-party service providers to mitigate risk for operational readiness and business performance. These initiatives are specifically designed to ensure regulatory compliance, protect reputation, limit liability, prevent operational disruptions, build ops reliability/resilience, and ultimately, protect life, environment, and property. Initiatives consist of some, but not all the following items.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Perform regulatory vessel surveys and Cat 3 vessel SIREs
Complete third-party marine terminal inspections and barge fleet assessments.
Conduct vessel and management TSMS Audits
Monitor and analyze risk/performance trends
Support internal TMSA
Conduct Third Party Vessel Operator Management Audits
Perform Third Party Operator, Vessel and Fleet vetting.
Support marine casualty investigations
Serves as a marine consultant to internal stakeholders
Facilitate and support safety practices/risk assessments and Management of Change
Liaison with Coast Guard, ABS, and other stakeholders on compliance and assurance matters.
Experience:
Individual must have a previous survey, inspection, and/or audit experience, and 5 years of related terminal or vessel operations experience.
Prior Coast Guard marine inspection and operational experience or industry credentialed/operational experience will be considered. Merchant mariners with previous surveying and auditing experience are encouraged to apply.
Requirement:
High school diploma or GED. A college diploma is preferred but not required.
Valid driver's license and TWIC.
Travel requirement is 20-50%.
