Operations Technician – MPL – Pasadena, TX
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Technician Trainee position is located at Marathon’s Pasadena, TX facility. This position works in and around refined petroleum products and crude oil facilities executing Operations & Logistics, Damage Prevention, Right of Way Relations activities duties. The successful candidate will perform such duties as: tasks associated with pipeline movements and measurements, perform routine facility checks, climbing storage tanks, facilitating, and monitoring pipeline movements and conducting refined product and crude oil sampling, tank switches and product cuts; assure accordance with all regulations in support of DOT, Environmental, Safety and Regulatory compliance. Travel, call-outs, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis.
The successful candidate is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location at MPL Pasadena Station which is in Pasadena, TX.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Operations Technician will perform tasks associated with pipeline, measurements, perform routine stations checks, respond to and resolve station alarms and communicate findings to appropriate parties, respond to right of way conflicts (if needed), generate computerized work requests in SAP for maintenance tasks, coordinate and communicate maintenance activities, complete all required training, and perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred but not required.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills is expected.
- Previous pipeline experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to work 8 – 12 hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
