Role Purpose Statement
The Director of Business Programs will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of key business programs and initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong ability to align projects with organizational goals, foster collaboration, and deliver measurable results.
Main Accountabilities
Strategic Planning & Execution:
• Assist the CIO in developing and executing the overall IT strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Lead strategic initiatives, ensuring they are prioritized, resourced, and executed effectively.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and IT management to define technology roadmaps and ensure IT investments deliver business value.
Governance & Policy Oversight:
• Manage IT governance frameworks and ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with IT policies, cybersecurity protocols, and data privacy regulations.
• Oversee the development and implementation of IT policies and ensure continuous improvement of IT governance practices.
Project Management & Coordination:
• Oversee the IT project portfolio, ensuring projects are aligned with strategic goals, delivered on time, and within budget.
• Collaborate with project management teams to ensure successful project execution and mitigate risks.
• Ensure timely reporting and updates to the CIO on project progress, key initiatives, and potential roadblocks.
Performance Measurement & Reporting:
• Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of IT initiatives and operations.
• Regularly report on the status of IT projects, operational performance, risk management, and compliance efforts to the CIO and other senior leaders.
• Lead efforts to continuously improve IT processes, technology adoption, and service delivery.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 8-10+ years of experience in IT management, project management, or IT governance roles, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position.
• Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT), project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
• Proven experience in managing large-scale IT projects, strategic planning, and IT governance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance improvement and risk management.
