Responsibilities
Ascension Technologies is seeking a highly experienced leader to support Ascension’s goals. This Project Director will partner with clinical, operational and technology leaders to oversee and facilitate our Clinical Throughput and Case Management Portfolio. Portfolios are the mechanism Ascension technology leaders and business/operations leaders use to ensure we are pursuing and delivering initiatives that directly underpin our clinical and operational strategic direction. This Project director will be responsible for representing Ascension Technologies to our internal business partners, while leading and influencing Ascension Technologies teams to organize, design and deliver programs and projects to improve the patient and clinical experience.
Clinical or healthcare background for this position is preferred with a special focus on case management and knowledge regarding optimized patient throughput processes- transfer centers, inpatient flow/LOS and discharge planning.
This Project director will report to the CNIO and be a member of Ascension’s national clinical informatics team which is part of the larger Clinical Experience division of Ascension Technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Drives clarity around objectives and relative prioritization with business & operational lead, and resulting in Portfolio Definitions, Goals, Plans, Roadmaps and Timelines
- Dot Connector: Coordinates & aligns cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams to ensure solution delivery achieves intended outcomes
- Business facing, responsible for establishing a strategically-aligned portfolio of initiatives in partnership with clinical and/or business leaders that run the corresponding operational area
- Communicator: Establishes broad, inclusive and efficient communication across teams including executives, business partners, ministry-wide functions, and markets
- Team Player: Partners with senior management and senior users on strategic issues, including technology issues
- Resource + Budget Allocator: Ensures technology, data & experience resources ($, people + platforms + external resources) are aligned with expected solution delivery and ensures the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Simultaneously comfortable with ambiguity and adept at bringing clarity to the team on what & why
- Systemic thinker - always focused on end to end solution realization
- Builds & maintains 100% alignment with the business and user community stakeholders
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
Additional Preferences
- 5+ years clinical/ hospital background preferred in large, complex healthcare organizations
- Working knowledge of healthcare applications with special attention to case management and patient/ hospital throughput processes (transfer centers, inpatient flow/ LOS and discharge planning) highly recommended
- Program or Project Management experience in healthcare
