Job Description

The primary function of this position is as the scrub person, surgeon assistant, and assistant circulator for all newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient procedures completed under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. May be cross-trained to other duties within the surgery department, but outside the normal curriculum of surgical care. (ex: OR housekeeping chores, Central Sterile processing, transporting as requested by charge personnel.
Additional Job Description
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. A graduate of a technical college or equivalent, with accredited Surgical Technologist curricula.
Licenses/Certifications: Surgical Technologist Certification required after 2008
Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) required
