Job Description:
The Senior Benefits Analyst will be a key member of the benefits team, responsible for managing the administration of the health and welfare programs for the organization. Using strong analytical and project management skills, this role will ensure the smooth administration and compliance of all plans. Encouraged to look at all programs with fresh eyes and drive process improvements and new ideas forward, this role is a critical part of the benefits team.
Day to day you’ll …- Manage and administer the H&R Block Health & Welfare plans, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, health savings account, and related wellness and disease management programs.
- Leads complex vendor implementation projects from end to end – participates in the RFP process, and contributes to defining requirements, plan design decisions and vendor selection. Tracks and monitors all deadlines to ensure they are met, collaborates on marketing and communications materials, etc.
- Ensure all programs are administered according to respective federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations governing employee benefits.
- Responsible for timely processing and auditing of various vendor invoices and funding files and ensuring monthly enrollment and premiums due are accurate and processed timely according to vendor contracts
- Interpret the plan provisions for associates and research complex questions and communicate conclusions to program participants
- Primary lead for the annual Open Enrollment process and annual benefits vendor fair/onsite health screenings.
- Contribute to the benefits communication strategy by drafting associate communications, update company intranet site on an as needed basis, and communicate program/process changes to the People Resource Center.
- Compile, track, and summarize data for benefits programs and processes to ensure programs are current, cost effective and competitive. Work with key vendors to evaluate outreach and marketing efforts.
- Share responsibility for conducting new associate benefit orientations and supporting other benefit programs.
- Use strong data analysis skills to identify and isolate any possible issues or opportunities for improvement and drive the process to remediate the issue.
- Partner with the Workday team to ensure online enrollment system configuration and automated file feeds to vendors are operational; troubleshoot any errors and handle problem resolution.

What you'll bring to the team...Education
Required – Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, human resources, or related field or equivalent through combination of education and related work experience.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years related work experience with responsibility for health & welfare benefit plans for a large, self-funded, multi-state employer.
Qualifications- Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of regulations and compliance requirements across applicable federal, state, and local regulations such as ERISA, ACA, IRC Section 125, HIPAA, and COBRA
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products – PowerPoint, Word, Excel at intermediate to advanced level (pivot tables, v-lookup, queries, advanced formulas, macros)
- Experience with supporting multiple benefits plans that include health, medical, dental, vision, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to inform employees about their benefit options and how to enroll.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong customer service focus, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
