Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Hardware Engineer to join our team in Ft. Meade, Maryland. This position is part of a team that provides engineering and Information Technology services to provision, manage, sustain, innovate, modernize, refresh, reengineer, and secure the Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Non-NC2 cryptographic production infrastructure.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing functional requirements and specification for hardware acquisitions
- Analyzing hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components to include servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.
- Ensuring problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions satisfy user’s requirements.
- Assisting with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Conduct site surveys; assesses and documents current site network configuration and site-unique requirements.
- Developing hardware installation schedules based upon set-up, integration, and test timeliness.
- Training site personnel in proper use of hardware
- Recommending specifications for hardware acquisitions
- Preparing engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages
- Preparing drawings documenting as-built configurations
- Configuring computers, communications devices and peripheral equipment
- Preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience as HE analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions. Bachelor’s degree in communications engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with scheduling requested evaluations submitted from vendors.
- Experience with receiving, unpacking, and setting up submitted commercial equipment for evaluation.
- Experience with reviewing equipment documentation and manuals.
- Experience with selecting appropriate evaluation SOPs.
- Experience with setting up appropriate tools and sensors to support evaluations.
- Experience with operating equipment to perform defined performance and safety evaluations.
- Experience with collecting technical data to support evaluation.
- Experience with taking photographs of equipment and residues from tests.
- Experience with generating technical reports to document evaluation results.
- Experience with reviewing and updating policies related to secure destruction.
- Experience with responding to customer inquiries concerning policies and procedures.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Current and active TS/SCI with polygraph based upon a SSBI
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
- Must be able to move the vendors equipment.
- Repetitive Motions.
