Overview:
We are looking for a Vice President of Operations to oversee our hospice branch operations in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. To qualify for this position, you must reside, or have plans to relocate to, Delaware, Maryland or Virginia. Multi-state/multi-site Hospice or Home Health regional leadership experience is required.
This position reports to the Region President of Operations and provides leadership and management to the region that mirrors the missions and core values. Interacts regularly with region team and senior leadership to ensure that the Company’s operations priorities are aligned with operations strategies and goals.

This position is for a person who likes to plan, direct, and control activities of the region to accomplish budgeted financial and patient care objectives. Provides leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the agency and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
- Experience in regional hospice operations, state and federal regulations and compliance required

General Duties & Responsibilities
- Adheres to Organization’s Policy and Procedures
- Participates in developing region goals, objectives, systems, policies and procedures
- Assists region in carrying out various programs and procedures
- Performs duties as workload necessitates
- Communicates regularly with region president about region issues
- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
- Participates in working groups, councils and committees.
- Ensures compliance with rules and regulations.
- Recommends new approaches to effect on-going continual improvements to policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned

- Completes required Compliance annual training.
Essential Functions of Position
- Collaborate with the region management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth of the objectives of the Company.
- Reviews and coordinates KPIs of the region. Reviewed region productivity, admissions, discharges/transfers, CAP liability, staffing, and expenses.
- Directs and coordinates clinical and office staff of the region branches, assumes responsibility for continuity, quality and safety of services delivered in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Responsible for the management and effectiveness of all processes. Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the agency.
- Responsible for driving the region to achieve and surpass census goals, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
- Coordinates with the Region President in budget management for programs and initiatives and monitors the achievement of region financial objectives.
- Motivate and lead high performance leaders in the region; attract, recruit and retain required members of the region leaders. Ensure effective and ongoing on the job training of team members, evaluate and record individual and team performance, provide coaching and counseling and make appropriate development recommendations.
- Collaborate with the other leaders to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes and adhere to compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.
- Travel: approximately 65-70%
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong leadership skills
- Proven ability to generate new business and maintain professional relationships in the community and with Medical Directors
- Knowledge hospice operations, state and federal regulations and compliance
- Proven track record of building/driving markets, processes, and systems

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related health care field
- Minimum of 5 years regional hospice or home health management experience with proven track record of building/driving markets, process and systems.
- Prior operation/sales and marking in a home health, hospice or other directly related healthcare business preferred
