Role Summary:
As a people leader, the Manager, Line Maintenance provides guidance for daily and long-range Line Maintenance operational requirements and ensures compliance with all governing Federal, local, and AS regulations affecting operations at assigned station and outstations for Alaska Airlines (AS).Â
Key Duties:
- Provides guidance for daily and long-range Line Maintenance operational requirements and ensures compliance with all governing Federal, local, and AS regulations affecting operations at assigned station and outstations.Â
- Provides technical direction and assumes technical responsibility for maintenance work accomplished by mechanics or by outside agencies/vendors.Â
- Forecasts and budgets operational needs and personnel requirements.Â
- Evaluates processes, procedures, and equipment changes.Â
- Creates clear channels of communication to ensure all staff is well informed about departmental and company issues and decisions.Â
- Provides leadership and direction to ensure high standards of performance are maintained in the areas of safety, cost, quality, and labor relations.Â
- Establishes and implements policies and procedures to ensure continued improvement.Â
- Determines work priorities and ensures timely accomplishment of all maintenance functions.Â
- Reviews and evaluates employee performance.Â
- Provides a safe work environment and ensures safety rules and regulations are enforced and develops safety awareness in all assigned personnel.Â
- Performs other duties as assigned.Â
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:
Required
- 5 years of line maintenance experience, or related area
- 2 years of leadership experience.
- Experience with Jet Aircraft/Boeing 737/Airbus or larger maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Extensive experience in budgeting, aircraft reliability, and production.
- Strong track record effectively managing teams and experience developing and mentoring employees through engagement.
- Ability to frequently travel inter-island, as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Additional experience with Jet Aircraft/Boeing 737/Airbus or larger maintenance.

Salary Range: $139,700 - $209,500 / year Salary Details:
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
