Job Position: Emergency Shelter Shift Monitor
Location: Pontiac, MI 48342
Pay Rate: $16.00/hr
Position Summary:
Lighthouse is seeking a dedicated Shift Monitor to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of residents in our Emergency Shelter Program. This role involves providing front desk support, screening visitors, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Crisis Response: Answer emergency calls from individuals seeking shelter, providing immediate support and guidance.
Resident Services: Offer on-site assistance to families in the shelter program, including paperwork, photocopying, answering questions, and ensuring privacy.
Facility Management: Uphold program policies, enforce rules, and assist with cleaning and preparing units for new families.
Meal Delivery: Deliver meals to 18 families on-site daily.
Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, maintain open communication, and demonstrate a positive attitude.
Safety and Security: Monitor the shelter grounds, check surveillance equipment, and respond to resident requests and emergencies.
Administrative Tasks: Complete paperwork, data entry, and inspections as required.
Professional Development: Participate in trainings and workshops to enhance skills and represent Lighthouse.
Qualifications:
Excellent customer service skills and ability to build rapport with residents.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working with low-income individuals and families preferred.
Knowledge of social services in Oakland County a plus.
Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
Reliable transportation.
Must be available to work Tuesday-Saturday, 11 PM-7 AM, with initial training on Sunday-Thursday, 11 PM-7 AM.
