What you will do
The responsibility of the Building System Surveyor is to support Johnson Controls Building Solutions security sales associates in performing on-time and accurate customer site surveys and develop security equipment estimate and project design deliverables in support of the Center of Excellence Network. At a local branch level this pre-sales support role will work together with COE Application Engineers while proactively maintaining local jurisdiction familiarity, sub-contractor relationships and a working knowledge of the core JCI security product offering.
The Building System Surveyor performs a critical function as part of the Global COE network to ensure that JCI security seller’s pre-sale needs are met through a focus on high quality collaboration, professional on-site assessments, and by adhering to a standardized process and deliverables.
How you will do it
Conduct timely and accurate security survey and on-site equipment assessments at the local branch level to meet pre-sale support request needs.
Coordinate locally with sub-contractor representatives to obtain project bid quotes and pricing proposals in support of pre-sales proposal generation.
Complete and deliver COE survey documentation and deliverables utilizing appropriate platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Office 365, SharePoint, ArcSite).
In coordination with COE application engineers, review project costing estimates with local installation or operations management before submittal of completed deliverables to sales.
Strict adherence to standardized processes and completion of deliverable documentation (site survey forms, floorplan drawing with device placement, etc)
Maintain a strong familiarity with local sub-contractor resource availability and competencies.
Proactively monitor and track AHJ local expectations, regulations and permitting requirements.
Support sales to provide installation/operations with pre-installation scope of work debrief to aid in a smooth hand-off to installation personnel.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the JCI core product and service offerings.
Provide JCI sellers with customer support as local point of contact to facilitate resolution/handoff when an on-site presence is necessary.
Activities and responsibilities will adhere to current policies, procedures, programs and services.
What we look for
Required
High school diploma or GED.
5 years of industry experience, commercial installation or commercial sales (not combined).
Minimum of five years of field experience, such as installation technician or successful sales representative, in commercial security; including intrusion detection, access control, IP video, fire alarm, etc.
Must currently hold a NICET level II with the ability to obtain a NICET level III as well as the Texas APS license within 6 months.
Experience with IP networking common practices, to include up to a minimum Layer 3 basic concepts and functions.
Experience with a computer aided drafting software.
Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal.
Strong problem-solving skills and confidence to make sound business conscious decisions in stressful environment.
Strong PC Proficiency to include but not limited to; Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint.
Ability to learn JCI specific platforms to include but not limited to; Salesforce, ArcSite, MASterMind, ADMIN, etc.
Time Management and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Ability to drive to customer and JCI branch locations.
Occasional travel but limited.
