We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Packaging Systems Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of packaging and packaging automation, following the process through paper making, converting, design, sales and end of line packaging. The intern will work closely with two GBP Packaging Systems Engineers to support various projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Packaging Systems Engineers and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective packaging solutions
- Support the Packaging Systems team in troubleshooting and resolving issues on customers’ packaging lines
- With guidance from Engineers, conduct research and analysis on packaging materials, automation and trends
- Participate in meetings with customers and suppliers to discuss project progress and requirements
- Travel with Packaging Systems Engineers to customer and supplier sites as needed to support project activities
- Assist Packaging Systems with updating equipment information and resources
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong interest in corrugated/folding carton packaging and packaging automation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel locally and nationwide as required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Positive attitude and problem-solving skills
