Description
The Graphics Production Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of customer artwork meets the specifications for offset litho printing. This includes tasks such as pre-flighting, producing, correcting, proofreading, and outputting plate-ready files and proofs for customer review.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing Mac-based Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Acrobat, and Photoshop) to produce accurate files for output.
- Interacting with both internal and external customers. Providing them with status updates and recommending improvements to their files for better printing results.
- Understanding job specifications and special customer requirements.
- Entering job-tracking data into a workflow management system.
- Preflighting, producing, correcting, and outputting trapped files for offset litho presses.
- Creating PDFs and hard copy proofs for customer review.
- Proofreading all artwork created by self and other graphics personnel.
- Managing files.
- Assisting with internal press checks as required.
- Assisting in maintaining the graphics department's equipment.
- Demonstrating a commitment to safety and performing job duties following company safety policies and procedures.
- Performing any other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Adobe Creative Suite proficiency with a focus on Illustrator and Acrobat. Familiarity with Photoshop is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers, work collaboratively to solve problems, and troubleshoot errors.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in performing repetitive tasks.
- Excellent proofreading and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated individual with strong multitasking and time management skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new equipment, software, and procedures.
- Preferably hold an Associate’s Degree in Graphics and/or Print Technology with at least two years of experience.
- Knowledge of Esko Desk Pack plugins within Illustrator and Heidelberg Prinect software is a plus.
- Experience in offset printing is a plus.
