The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full time Senior Operations Research Analyst-GS-1515-14 to work at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.
Member will serve as a senior Air Force (AF) operations research analyst and to provide expertise in initiating, applying, and planning major developmental studies. The Office of Studies and analysis, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force (SAF/SA) is recognized as the Department’s authority on operations research and modeling & simulation. Advanced analytical, mathematical, and statistical theories, principles, concepts, methods, and techniques including modeling and simulation are used to evaluate alternatives and providing expert advice to Air Force and Space Force headquarters staff, Major Command (MAJCOM) and Field Command (FLDCOM) activities and/or other agencies.
Analysts are responsible for conducting Joint operational-level, combat analysis focused on Joint Force, Space, and Nuclear Operations analyzing combat force structures and future force designs at the campaign level. SAF/SA is looking to fill vacancies in its Joint Campaign, new Space Campaign, and new Nuclear Analysis Branches.

-Must have a bachelor's degree in operations research or in a related technical discipline such as mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, or engineering. Advanced degree(s) are preferred.

-Knowledge and mastery of a broad range of methods and techniques used in classical and modern advanced operations research studies and possession of analytical abilities.
-Knowledge of expert quantitative techniques and methods used to develop. adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.
-Ability to participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.
-Ability to recognize and use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicate information in writing in a succinct and organized manner; and produce written information. including h:chnical material, which is appropriate for the intended audience.
-Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques. Ability to design, build, and use models and simulation techniques.
