We are seeking a Classified Network Engineer work with a team to design and maintain the Force Projection Sector 's collateral classified local and wide area networks. - Assist in planning and budgeting for networking infrastructure.
- Configuring and deploying hardware.
- Working with a security team to harden and validate the integrity of the solution.
- Monitor and maintain all team managed network resources.
- Review audit logs and investigate anomalies.
- Work with upstream security providers like DCSA to develop and implement new technologies and practices.

- Have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience with computer systems and networks.
- Have at least two years of experience working with complex network environments and demonstrated technical skills.
- Have proficiency with Cisco IOS and the configuration, implementation and management of Cisco switches and routers.
- Have sound Layer 2 and 3 networking skill.
- Have the ability to obtain one of the following certifications within six months: Security+ Certification, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Have strong customer service skills with the ability to interface with all levels of management, customers, and staff to learn to understand their issues and requirements.
- Have strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, attention to details, and problem solving skills and are able to work in a team environment in support of shared objectives, and make sound decisions independently when necessary.
- Are willing and able to occasionally work after hours to meet business needs, and are occasionally willing to travel to remote sites.
- Have a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For part-time salaried employees, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, part-time study and training and development.
