48 bed inpatient acute care area, population focus is post-operative Oncology surgeries to include gastric, colon, liver, breast, pancreas, kidney, bladder, prostate, GYN cancers, limited post-operative GYN surgeries associated with incontinence.
Unit: Surgical Oncology/Gynecology/Urology
We're seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Oncology for the Surgical Oncology/Gynecology/Urology unit at Emory University Hospital. This RN professional provides leadership in order to integrate new knowledge and innovation within this specialty area and utilizes specialized knowledge and skills within the three spheres of influence: patient/family, nurses, and the organization/system. This individual will:
- Collaborate with the Nursing Director(s) to lead clinical practice and education on the unit, with in the division, and across the health system.
- Accountable for designing, implementing, and measuring safe, cost effective, evidence-based care strategies.
- Contributes to the advancement of nursing practice at the unit/system, local, state and national and international levels and is instrumental in the application of the Professional Practice/Care Transformation Model across the health system.
- Provides direct care for complex patient with multi system care issues.
- Is cognizant of the diverse needs of patients, staff, and other professionals. Considers cultural influences when collaborating with patients, family, and staff.
- Provides expert nursing consultation to nurses, physicians, patients and families and others to promote quality care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board
- Master's degree in nursing
- Meets GA Board of Nursing requirements for CNS
- Three years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse with at least two years of recent experience in the area of concentration.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
