We’re seeking future team members for our Markets Operations with roles located in Lake Mary, FL in Hybrid positions.
The Middle Office Trade Support team plays a critical role in the Middle Office Operations department within The Markets Operations Group at BNY. This team serves as a central liaison to the front office and is responsible for the mitigation of risk in support of day-to-day trading activities, life cycle events, PNL review, reconciliations, regulatory/compliance support, project management, and ad hoc requests from the multiple desks that we support. The team supports the following product types: Mortgages, TBAs, Treasuries, Agencies, and Futures. The candidate will provide proactive assessment and resolution of complex issues on behalf of the trading desk, working across Infrastructure and external contacts to address and as point of escalation to management as warranted.
You’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Collaborate with operations teams, trading desks and technology to identify and implement strategic improvements.
- Assist with the implementation of industry initiatives and internal operational efficiencies.
- Perform ad-hoc requests, support and analysis.
- Document and Challenge Key Operating Procedures (policies and procedures) ensuring comprehensive final version that includes concise verbiage and consistent format as well as ensuring compliance to policies and establishing a control environment drive to mitigate operational risk.
- Exercise own judgement and collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to properly escalate and work to resolve issues.
- Regularly interact with clients in answering questions and resolving multifaceted inquiries.
- You’ll work to become an SME and understand the daily responsibilities to foster an inclusive and highly fungible team across all its functions
To be successful, we’re seeking interest in the follow areas:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 3-5 years of total relevant work experience preferred. FINRA Series 99 license preferred.
- Experience in trade processing front to back, risk and control, markets, operations, and support & control areas within a Broker Dealer / Major Institution.
- Understanding of Fixed Income products and their respective matching, settlement, and clearing processes via FICC/non-FICC client.
- Understanding of various Fixed Income Products, Bilateral and Triparty Repos, and product lifecycle events.
- Ability to prioritize, lead discussions, multitask and coordinate objectives among a diversified group of stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks.
- Strong communication skills.
- Risk and control focused.
- Track & troubleshoot complex issues and drive solutions.
- Proactive & solutions-oriented; innovative and intellectually curious.
