Per Diem
Summary:
Applies the nursing process with patients and families, integrating principles that reflect sensitivity to their age-specific/developmental needs, gender, culture, religion, psychosocial and socioeconomic backgrounds in order to provide evidence-based, holistic care in a manner that respects the worth and dignity of each individual. Practices professional nursing as a licensed practical nurse within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice and Code for Nurses, American Nurses Association Home Health Nursing, National Hospice Association and applicable regulatory agencies.
Triages urgent calls from patients that are too complex for medical assistants.
Assists providers with office based procedures.
Rooms patients and manages Epic in-basket messages as needed.
Processes medication refills.
Other job related duties as assigned.
Upholds both the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of professional practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut
Has the knowledge and skills necessary to assess health needs of patients and to perform nursing care in a safe, caring manner.
Willingness to obtain BLS certification within six months of hire
